Pokemon Platinum Unlocked is a hack of Pokémon Platinum that enhances the experience with quality-of-life improvements, expanded replayability, and added post-game content, all while staying faithful to the vanilla game.

If you’re looking for a version of Platinum that feels authentic to the original but with modernized conveniences and additional features, Platinum Unlocked is the perfect choice. It ensures everything you catch and experience remains legit for Generation 4 and onward, making it ideal for players who value compatibility and authenticity.

Gameplay Enhancements

• National Pokédex from the Start: Includes updated location data for seamless encounters.
• Expanded Wild Encounters:
  • Catch GBA insertion Pokémon, swarm species, daily Great Marsh, and Trophy Garden encounters without waiting.
  • Fish with the Good Rod to access Pokémon normally locked behind the Super Rod (e.g., Staryu, Dratini, Wailmer) at their usual locations.
  • Feebas is now a normal fishing encounter in Mt. Coronet.
• Daily Drifloon: Available every day after the Valley Windworks event (requires one-day wait for first appearance).
• Spiritomb Simplified: Obtainable after inserting the Odd Stone.
• New Items:
  • Key items like Oak’s Letter, Member Card, Secret Key, and fossils placed at accessible locations (e.g., Galactic HQ, Oreburgh Mine, Resort Area, Stark Mountain).

Trainer and Battle Overhauls

• Revamped teams for Gyms, Elite Four, Cynthia, Galactic Bosses, and Battleground Rematches with added Pokémon, sometimes reflecting BDSP counterparts.
• Revamped Trainer Teams: Many trainers have altered or expanded rosters.
• Regis Accessible Post-Distortion World: Inspired by Drayano’s approach, unlock with Wailord and Relicanth in your party.

• Reusable TMs: No need to repurchase or re-farm TMs.
• Instant Honey Trees: No waiting for Pokémon encounters.
• Faster HP Bar Animations: Speeds up battles.
• HMs from the Bag: Use Cut, Strength, Rock Smash, and Waterfall directly from your bag (note: Waterfall doesn’t work to descend).

Known Bugs

1. Compatibility Issues with PKHeX:
   • New Pokémon encounters in the Great Marsh may be flagged as illegal in PKHeX.
   • PKSM on 3DS does not have this issue, and Pokémon should transfer fine.
   • Recommendation: To ensure safe transfer, make eggs of these Pokémon before transferring them to other platforms.
2. Feebas Legality:
   • Mt. Coronet Feebas may often be marked as illegal in PKHeX.
   • Setting their level to 17 reduces this issue but doesn’t eliminate it entirely.
   • Recommendation: For a safe Milotic evolution, use the traditional method with a high Beauty stat instead of the altered Level 30 evolution.
3. Battle Dialogues Issue:
   • In version 1.1, battle dialogues are shuffled due to a bug.
   • This issue will be fixed in a future update.

These bugs are relatively minor and have clear workarounds, ensuring that you can still enjoy the game fully.

Q: Is the game faster?

• A: Yes, HP bars are faster. A full speed-up patch will be available in Version 1.2.

Q: Will it work with Following Platinum?

• A: Not currently.

Q: Can you add Pokémon not encountered in Platinum? Can you make it a 493 hack?

• A: No, as it would render them non-legit. If you want a 493 hack, there are other options available.

Q: Is Manaphy obtainable?

• A: No, because replicating the true Manaphy Egg event isn’t possible.

Q: Can I use or modify Platinum Unlocked or its content?

• A: Yes! You’re free to do so, but credit everyone involved.

Q: Will there be an update?

• A: Version 1.2 is in progress. It will fix existing bugs and offer two patches:
  1. A Vanilla+ experience patch.
  2. It’s a fun version for additional replayability.
