Description
A horror-inspired love letter to the creepypastas and edgy ROM hacks of the late 2000s and early 2010s, Pokémon: Ghost Grey Version presents an original story set in a decayed Kanto, 50 years after the events of Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
The once vibrant and lively region has fallen into ruin. Kanto is now overrun by ghosts, ghouls, and other dangerous figures, while its remaining inhabitants struggle to survive in a world that has seemingly abandoned them.
The people who remain are broken, the region is decaying, and escape seems impossible. What happened to Kanto—and what awaits you within its ruins?
Still, the story is the same. Earn 7 badges, catch ’em all, and become the Champion. Surely it’s all that simple… right?

Technical Changes
- Modified Type Chart: Steel once again resists Ghost and Dark, as it did prior to Generation 6. Psychic is no longer weak to Ghost, reverting its Generation 1 matchup. Fairy now only resists Dragon rather than being immune to it. Ghost-type attacks against Ghost-type Pokémon deal 1.5× damage instead of 2×.
- No EVs, IVs, or Hidden Power: EVs and IVs have been removed entirely. All Pokémon have 0 IVs and cannot gain EVs through battles or items. Hidden Power is also unavailable.
- No Breeding: Eggs and Pokémon breeding are not included.
- Move Power Adjustments: Dark Pulse and Crunch have been reduced from 80 to 70 base power.
- New Moves: Several original moves have been added, including:
- Purify — A physical Psychic-type move that applies Foresight to the target when it hits.
- Shatterpoint — A physical Psychic-type move that replaces Brick Break.
- Soul Shift — A Psychic-type version of U-turn.
- Jumpscare — A Ghost-type equivalent of Fake Out.
- And many more!
