Pokemon Bill’s Secret Garden is a GBA ROM Hack by Tib Jib based on Pokemon Fire Red in English. And it is now available to download. It was released on August 16, 2024.

Description
Pokemon Bill’s Secret Garden (BSG) is a Vanilla+ FireRed ROM hack featuring exciting enhancements and new content. The main attraction is a hidden garden accessible through a teleporter in Bill’s house, where you can encounter Pokémon from the GS Spaceworld Beta that were cut from the original Gold & Silver. This garden introduces 40 new Pokémon, including evolutions and forms, adding a fresh layer to your gameplay experience. Key features include:

- New Garden Area: A hidden garden accessible through a teleporter in Bill’s house with Pokémon from the GS Spaceworld Beta
- Complete FireRed Upgrade: Enjoy modern mechanics like Fairy-type, updated moves, battle systems, and the DexNav.
- Expanded Dex: All 386 Gen 3 Pokémon are available, with most catchable before the Elite Four.
- Additional Evolutions and Forms: Access new evolutions, forms, and Paradox Pokémon as split evolutions from existing lines.
- Updated Trainer Teams: Trainers have revamped teams, making some battles more challenging.
- Quality of Life Improvements: New move tutors, updated shops, and item availability adjustments enhance the overall experience.
While not overly flashy, BSG offers an intriguing twist for your next FireRed playthrough with just the right amount of new content and updates.
Despite using the CFRU as a base, Pokemon Bill’s Secret Garden (BSG) excludes Mega Evolution and Gen 4-9 Pokémon unrelated to existing lines.
Possible Future Features
- Updated animations for new attacks (currently reusing existing ones).
- Optional “Hard Mode” patch.
- Optional patch enabling Mega Evolution if there’s enough demand.
- Improved Pokémon icons.
- Changes to in-game trades.
- Balance adjustments based on feedback.
- Multi-move tutors.
Known Bugs
- The map sprite for the roaming Legendary after the League shows the wrong Pokémon.
- Nincada’s usual evolution method is broken, making Shedinja unobtainable. Shedinja can now be evolved using a Dusk Stone.
- Registering more than one Key Item using the Select button causes a glitch in the item list. Items work correctly but show incorrect names (e.g., the Bike might appear as Fresh Water).
- Some Pokémon, especially regional forms, only give 1 XP.

I edited most of the new sprites for the beta Pokemon myself, creating GBA-styled sprites using existing GB-style sprites as a base. However, I did not create the original GB sprites, so I’d like to highlight the many talented sprite artists behind these original images.
